Tech toy developer Sensible Object has detailed a new update for its popular and boundary-pushing title Beasts of Balance, bringing battle mode to the interactive board gam and app game hybrid.

The Battle Mode update brings a new competitive gameplay mode to the title, further compatibility with new physical pieces as well as some extra fixes and improvements to the original Beasts of Balance game.

Players simply need to update their Beasts of Balance app on their smart device to engage in the new two to three player mode as they take on the role of Divine Creators.

‘Players battle it out under the watchful supervision of Alberick, the cantankerous old spirit of the volcano,’ read a statement from the firm.

‘As in co-op mode, players will need to master the mystical arts of dexterity, strategy and timing to emerge victorious – but this time against their fellow deities.’

Meanwhile, the team has also launched the first in its new Voice Originals portfolio, When In Rome, the world’s first Alexa-connected board game.

‘The title is the result of months and months of intense writing, recording, coding, drawing, designing and play-testing here at Sensible Object and we are beyond excited to unveil it,’ said the team.
