Flying Toys, distributor of the AR.Drone, has announced that Parrot will release a new AR.Race app for the iPhone-controlled R/C toy.

The software will let AR.Drone owners race against each other and also has a time-trial mode utilising inflatable check points.

Parrot has been pro-active in marketing the toy, putting together an extensive TV and cinema campaign which starts on Monday 20th.

Speaking to ToyNews, Dave Rawlins, MD of Flying Toys said: "Parrot are brilliant partners to work with, and Flying Toys is delighted to be their UK distributors at such an exciting time.

"Anyone who doesn't have this quadricopter on sale in their store, or placed prominently online on their website, will look like they've been left behind," he added.

Flying Toys has hosted a choice selection of AR.Drone videos on its YouTube page.
