Flying Toys' Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Power Edition Quadricopter, played a starring role at The Lynx Apollo Final Challenge, a programme to select a cadet to win a trip to space.

Among a series of physical and mental challenges, potential astronauts were tasked with flying the quadricopter through a donut to land on a plinth in the shortest time possible.

The event took place at Westfield White City, London on July 13th and 14th, with 250 cadets competing for the two finalist positions.

The overall winner will be selected at the Global Space Camp in Florida, winning a space flight on the X-COR sub-orbital space vehicle.

A batch of Lynx-branded AR Drone 2.0 Power Edition quadricopters were specially customised for the live TV event and presented to the competition's four runners up.

Flying Toys' MD David Rawlins, said: "We had no idea what was involved or the scale of the promotion until I received a telephone call confirming our product had been selected for the event.

"I felt proud and privileged to be asked to appear on stage with our technician Nigel Paine, in bright orange spacesuits, alongside the finalists and professional presenters, and really appreciate the opportunity."
