Nintendo launches Gold Edition Super Mario Amiibo

Nintendo is driving the collectability of its Amiibo range with the launch of a Gold Edition Super Mario figure.

The latest addition to the toys-to-life range of figures will land on the same day the firm launches its Mario Party 10 game for the Wii U console.

The Gold Edition Mario will be sold exclusively at 3,000 Walmart stores across the US with the retail price of $12.96.

The new figure will be compatible with multiple games that support amiibo in the Nintendo cannon, including Mario Party 10 which features a new amiibo Party mode.
