Toys R Us in the US recently tipped My Keepon as the hot toy for Christmas. And it looks like the retailer was right.

Stock of the robot is disappearing quickly in the states, prompting those who do own them to place them on eBay and other auction sites, to cash in on the demand.

Richard North, MD for Wow Stuff commented: “Whilst we are delighted to see My Keepon getting fabulous reviews, we are going to struggle to meet the demand. The Keepon character, designed by two scientists studying Autism in children, was a huge hit on You Tube before the toy version, My Keepon, launched.

"With now well over six million combined YouTube views and with hindsight we think this has contributed to the exceptional levels of pre orders. We’ve already ramped up the factory to meet the demand but stocks have been allocated to an overwhelming volume of pre-orders.

"We are working closely with our factories to keep up with demand but when the final shipment lands on the 25th November that is it for Christmas.”

In the UK, My Keepon is currently available to pre-order from a number of stockists, including Hamleys, Play.com, Argos and Toys R Us.
