Toys R Us Holdings, the holding company for the UK arm of the US-owned toy business revealed operating profit was up 9.3 per cent, from £29.97 million to £32.76 million, for the year to February 2nd. Sales at Toys R Us also increased 7.8 per cent.
The retailer opened two new stores during the period, taking its store count up to 73.
Profit after tax was £20.36 million, down from 2007's £26.23 million. The figure was affected by property transactions.
