The UK is taking part in its first quiet hour to create a more autism- friendly shopping experience.

Set to launch across multiple retailers and shopping centres nationwide, Toys R Us is already on aboard backing the initiative.

Shopping centre Intu has teamed with the National Autistic Society to help support the charity’s on-going awareness campaign.

Intu will hold the autism-friendly hour across 14 of its centres, kicking off on October 2nd.

Shops have been asked to follow various key steps to support the initiative, including dimming lights, turning down music and sharing information about autism with employees.

Toys R Us previously held a quiet hour across its stores last year, while Langleys Toys also held its own quiet hour earlier this year.
