The Good Toy Guide has awarded the Southampton independent toy shop Toys Ahoy as June’s Retailer of the Month.

Based in the seaside town of Hythe, the shop specialises in traditional and innovative toys for children and babies.

The store has been commended for both its high street and online presence alongside its customer service and range of traditional toys and gifts.

Run by Amanda and Jane, the store offers a click-and-collect service as well as home delivery.

“All of our toys are carefully selected by us to ensure they promote play,” explained Jane of Toys Ahoy.

“We have a wide variety of choice for every child and allow them to play with our toys and always provide an area for them to explore.

‘We also offer an extensive pocket money range which we believe can help encourage children to find something to draw them away from the screens.”

The pair boast a wealth of experience that they use to advise customers on what their children may enjoy, both having worked with kids for over 20 years.

Amanda Gummer of Good Toy Guide, said: “It can be so hard to find toy shops that promote play in this day and age, but luckily independent shops like toys Ahoy can offer such a wonderful service and what better management than that of two childcare professionals.

“Well done Toys Ahoy, another deserved Retailer of the Month.”
