The Entertainer has welcomed a new director of logistics to its team.

Steve Williams (pictured) will now lead the expansing logistics and operations divisions at the retailer, supporting the continued expansion of the chain and overseeing the move of the entire distribution operation this summer.

The distribution centre is set to treble current capacity with over 225,000sq ft and will hold 31,000 pallets. It is the biggest ever single investment The Entertainer has ever made.

Williams arrives from third party logistics company FedEx, prior to which he spent more than ten years at Claire's Accessories where he rose from head of logistics to European supply chain director, overseeing an estate of over 1,000 stores across 13 countries.

Gary Grant, MD of The Entertainer, said: "We are delighted that Steve has joined The Entertainer. His expert knowledge and experience of managing the logistics functions with the retail environment will be invaluable in ensuring we continue to deliver a first class service to our customers in a time of rapid growth.

"He will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and seamless move to our new distribution centre in Banbury this summer."
