Family-run toy retailer The Entertainer is preparing to open a new store in Hemel Hempstead off the back of soaring profits over the last five years.

The multi-channel toy retailer will open its new 3,000 square foot store in the Marlowes Shopping Centre on Saturday, February 28th.

The opening will create nine new jobs in the area and will preceed the opening of the chain's 100th store this March.

To celebrate the launch of the new store, The Entertainer will hold a trolley dash for children who have been supported by the local Home-Start Decorum charity.

Gary Grant, managing director and founder of The Entertainer, said he was delighted to bring his chain to the town.

“After experiencing such solid growth across the UK, we are pleased to announce the opening of the Hemel Hempstead store,” he said.

“Hemel Hempstead and the centre itself continues to offer a strong retail position for our store as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more toy shopping choice on the high street and within shopping centres.

“We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Hemel Hempstead and we have plans to increase in UK and will announce further plans soon.”
