Some of the biggest names in the toy industry are gathering next month to offer their advice on creating frenzies, at the TIA’s PlayCon 2015.
Funko, The Entertainer and NPD will be among the firms heading to the TIA’s International Conference of Play Professionals in Arizona, taking place from April 29th to May 1st.
The event will offer youth and play-related professionals the opportunity to network with peers and learn from experts across retail, manufacturing, research and more.
Topics covered will include how certain companies develop fans and how some products can create frenzies, the next generation’s lean on DIY and evolving technologies at consumer level.
The Entertainer’s co-founder Gary Grant will present the keynote address, discussing the ‘magic formula’ for the UK retailer’s expansion.
He will be joined by Brian Mariotti, president and CEO of Funko, who will discuss how to transform customers into lifelong fans and Frederique Tutt, global toys analyst of The NPD Group, who will offer the latest domestic and international toy sales data.
The line-up will be completed by Laurie Pressman, vice president of Pantone Color Institute, who will deliver insight into the role of colour in space design and Eva Lorenz, category leader of toys and games at Amazon.com, who will discuss how Amazon altered the face of retail.
Other speakers will include Jeremy Gutsche, chief trend hunter at Trendhunter.com, Ken Hertz of memBrain LLC, Paul Vitale, SVP of finance and operationas at TIA, and inventor Parker Thomas.
