Tesco shows its hand in Christmas toy price war

Retailer unveils Christmas Clubcard Voucher Exchange, doubling consumers' money on toys.

This year's Clubcard promotion includes girls and boys toys, baby and pre-school toys, outdoor toys, vehicles, construction toys, games, Lego and the Skylanders range, but excludes video games, consoles and software.

Consumers can swap £5 for £10 vouchers and in some cases, £10 for £20 vouchers, until December 1st 2011.

The campaign comes soon after other grocers launched toy offers in the lead up to Christmas.

Sainsbury's unveiled a half-price on all toys sale and Asda launched a price comparison advertising campaign, along with a 50 per cent off toy promotion.
