A report today on Business Week has revealed why it believes Tesco and Toys R Us have successfully broken into the Korean market, where other big name retailers have failed.

The key, according to the author, has apparently been a well-executed localisation strategy.

Both retailers struck deals with local firms - Tesco with Korea's Samsung Group and TRU with Lotte Shopping - to take advantage of local expertise in the market.
