A rare Star Wars proof card used as a prototype design for a vintage action figure could just prove that sometimes, it really is the packaging you pay for.

And in this case, that price has just reached $10,350.

The prototype proof card originally designed for a Luke Skywalker action figure by Kenner Toys in 1978, sold for the staggering sum on the online auction site, eBay.

WhatSellsBest.com reports that the Star Wars proof card received 36 bids from 11 bidders over a seven day auction. The opening bid was priced at $1, however by the time the auction closed on Sunday, November 2nd, the price had rocketed to over $10,000.

While the amount may seem steep for card board packaging, the Star Wars proof card is not the only memorabilia from the classic sci-fi film trilogy to hit the price brackets, with a set of 12 vintage star Wars action figures, currently going for $8,500 on the site.
