Online store Firebox.com hosted a Board Game Club takeover night with national DJ and broadcaster Matt Edmondson to celebrate the launch of the Obama Llama rhyming game.
The party game features various rhyming charades based on different celebrities, famous figures and fictional characters.
For example, players will find President Barack Obama riding a llama, Piglet eating a Twiglet and Tom Cruise wearing platform shoes.
Edmondson, creator of the game, said: “Obama Llama came about one weekend and snowballed when a friend and I started batting celebrity rhymes back and forth on text.
“It was an obsession – Lorraine Kelly eating jelly, Joe Swash having a wash – we were trying to outdo each other with ridiculous rhymes day and night.
“I’m a massive fan of silly, sociable board games and quizzes so I ploughed weeks into turning the idea into a fully-formed game, teamed up with a great games company and now here we are.”
Cara Davies, PR manager at Firebox.com, added: “The event was a great way of bringing the game to life with Matt. At Firebox, we pride ourselves on being the first to market with innovative and edgy products, which is why we snapped up Obama Llama as soon as the opportunity arose.
“Our buyers have already predicted that Obama Llama will be a top seller for Christmas, with the game having already ranked in 11th place in our ‘Top 50’ chart – the algorithm of which is based on the sales and buzz that a product has been generating. It’s a must have as a post-Christmas dinner game.”
Obama Llama is available now for purchase from Firebox.com for £19.99.
