New online marketplace OnBuy is stepping up its competition against internet giant Amazon, wavering monthly fees for traders for a limited period.

Hoping to tempt online traders to sign up and sell on its new platform, the firm is offering up to six months subscription to sell through OnBuy free of charge.

Furthermore, those who sign sign up before the site's launch date of November 1st will be offered an additional three months of free trading for free.

OnBuy reports that thousands of product lines have already been signed up to the new marketplace that boasts 'lower fees per sale than Amazon across all product categories'.

Once the special offer has ended, OnBuy will be charging a monthly subscription fee of £22.

Cas Paton, MD of OnBuy, said: "The launch of OnBuy is very close now and we're delighted to be able to offer this incentive to traders who want to sign up to the online marketplace that offers best value for traders - whatever it is they have to sell.

"OnBuy fees are already better than those of its rivals and by waiving our monthly fees for those who sign up now, we're offering unbeatable value. Our account managers are now working hard with our sellers to get them set up and ready for the launch on November 1st."
