NPD: Cars drives High Street sales

In August, Disney-Pixar’s Cars was the strongest film licence in the market accounting for four per cent of total sales.

The property grew 11 per cent for the month and was also the most popular brand in terms of sales. Mattel's Cars 2 character assortment mini vehicles was the second best selling product across total toys.

Star Wars was the second most popular brand, followed by Lego City, Crayola and Star Wars.

The best item progression was Lego's Cars Ultimate Build Lightning McQueen, which raced up the charts from 226 to 49.
