Irish superstore toy retailer Smyths has revealed a top ten list of the toys it believes every child will be hoping to unwrap this December 25th.

Commenting on the revealing of the list, Gareth Chapman, manager of Smyths Toys in Charlton, London, said: “We’ve a huge range of fantastic toys that are certain to be competing to be this year’s top toy for children nationwide.

“Technology rules the list, with children’s tablets and an updated Furby ranking highly, but the Lego range and children’s playsets are still proving as popular as ever. Either way, we’re sure there’ll be several adults who are just as eager as their children to try out the top toys this Christmas.”

So without further-ado, here's Smyths' top ten:

1) Furby (Hasbro)

2) Skylanders: Giants (Activision)

3) Children's computer tablets - (Meep, Kurio and Nabi)

4) Monster High Dolls (Mattel)

5) Nerf N-Strike Elite Hail-Fire (Hasbro)

6) Jake and the Never Land Pirates Pirate Ship Bucky

7) Moshi Monsters: My Moshi Home (Vivid)

8) Lego Super Heroes: Batman Batcave

9) WWE Elimination Chamber (Mattel)

10) InnoTab 2 (VTech)
