The Entertainer is set to open a new store in Basildon this month, in The Eastgate Shopping Centre.

Opening on February 27th, the 3,000sq ft store will create nine additional jobs in the area, whilst boasting a range of toys and games.

On the opening day, the store will have special appearances from Lego Ninjago’s Kai and The Entertainer’s Jack, as well as in-store demos of the latest toys and seasonal promotions.

Gary Grant, MD and Founder of The Entertainer, said: “After experiencing such solid growth across the UK, we are pleased to announce the opening of the Basildon store.

“Eastgate and the centre itself continues to offer a strong retail position for our store, as it attracts large numbers of family shoppers who are demanding more toy shopping choice on the High Street and within shopping centres. We look forward to bringing joy and wonder to the children of Basildon.”

A trolley dash undertaken by local charity Little Havens will also take place during the store’s opening.

Ian Clark, centre manager at Eastgate Shopping Centre, added: “The arrival of The Entertainer at Eastgate is great news. The new store is the perfect fit for Eastgate and the town of Basildon.

“It will bring an exciting new dimension to retail here, and it means new jobs will have been created in the Centre, which is particularly welcome.”

The toy retailer is also planning to open more stores throughout the UK in 2016, thanks to profits soaring over the last five years.
