The online retail competition looks set to heat up this summer as the brand new online marketplace OnBuy launches in June.
The new marketplace hopes to rival the global success of companies such as Amazon and eBay.
The concept has been developed by 28 year-old founder of OnTop Media, Cas Paton (pictured) who - after assessing consumers reactions to amazon and eBay - combined the most successful aspects from both to present a new framework.
Developed by a team of web experts, OnBuy allows shoppers to search for a product, optimising their search with bespoke filters while presenting users with the best deals on offer on a range of products.
OnBuy will also offer sellers a new management service, requiring only product images and numbers. OnBuy will then take care of the uploading and inventory management.
OnBuy MD, Paton, said: "Basically, we want to offer a better service than the leading marketplaces, for both buyers an sellers."
The new online marketplace has already secured major investment from UK IT provider, Centerprise International, the UK's number one distributor for Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba and ATI.
Paton added: "The value and experience, product reach and support services that Centerprise International offer are going to be fundamental to the success of OnBuy.
"They've been trading for 30 years, working closely with some of the largest IT companies in the world."
Garry Stevens, group CEO of Centerprise International, said: "We see OnBuy becoming part of the way that people buy online, setting new standards in reach and choice.
"The first thing that attracted us to work with Cas and the team on the project was the focus and enthusiasm they have for it.
"For us, we are always looking for great people to back and we are happy that we can form a long and mutually productive future alliance together."
