New Argos campaign will focus on Order-and-Collect service

The catalogue retailer will target internet-savvy shoppers with a £4 million TV campaign.

Argos' summer marketing drive will highlight the convenience of being able to order online and get the goods on the same day, without having to wait for the postman.

Karen MacLachlan, marketing director, said that Argos holds a major competitive advantage with "over 750 stores throughout the UK, typically within 10 minutes of customers’ homes."

She added: "Argos is selling in a hugely dynamic shopping environment. Bricks and clicks are inextricably linked."

Earlier this year, research from pwc revealed that Argos was Britain’s most-popular ‘multi-channel’ retailer, with shoppers citing the reserve and collect facility as a useful service.

Despite suffering a 9.6 per cent sales drop in Q1, Argos' toy business grew over the period.
