The Entertainer welcomed 26 Members of Parliament to its stores to celebrate one year of being part of the Geared For Giving campaign.
Each store carried festive promotional messaging and ran a cake baking competition. Local MPs attended the events and subsequently used social media channels and their own websites to make their constituents aware of the tax efficient scheme.
Managing director Gary Grant said: "Over the last twelve months our staff have really risen to the challenge and over 25 per cent now give to charity each month through our Workplace Giving scheme.
"However we know that there is still poor understanding of the benefits of giving to charity from your pay and we wanted to go the extra mile to further the aims of the Geared For Giving Campaign. It made perfect sense to use our stores to spread the message nationally and our staff are the ideal ambassadors as they are have a real understanding and actively support the scheme."
Peter O’Hara managing director of Workplace Giving UK who funds the Geared For Giving campaign said: "We know that a creative approach always pays dividends and The Entertainer’s baking extravaganza together with tea parties for MPs ensured a wave of local press coverage, twitter activity and online coverage all delivered for a minimal cost and a maximum impact for charity."
