Kiddiewinkles eyes up indie retailers

Firm looking to grow distribution of its playhouses in independent sector.

Kiddiwinkles has enjoyed a bigger presence in toy retail outlets following the launch of its textile swatch book earlier this year.

The book allows shops to sell the company’s full range of playhouses, even when space in-store is limited. Harrods has become the latest retailer to sign up, with the swatch book being put on display in the Toy Kingdom. This will complement its existing display of the Rose Cottage and Tea Shop playhouse and Wild West Wigwam.
Kiddiewinkles’ playhouses feature a door on both sides, with a different theme on the front and back to inspire creative play.

The full range performed above expectations in the lead up to Christmas last year.

“For the rest of this year our focus will be on distribution build, particularly through the independent sector,” Kiddiewinkles managing director, Debbie Hulme, explained to ToyNews. “Whilst we see increased demand for our products over the late spring/summer months, our busiest time of the year is October to December.

“We will be working hard to capitalise on the Christmas opportunity and maximising sales throughout this key trading period.”
