Scottish independent toy retailer The Hub Direct styled a Lego minifigure to appear as Andy Murray, which got picked up by the national media.

The figure - a tennis player from Lego's new Olympic Minifigures range - was photographed in-store by The Sunday Herald and the retailer says it was filmed by ITV.

The Hub attached a "Go Andy!" speech bubble to the figure to cheer on the Brit tennis star in yesterday's Wimbledon final.

A picture of the figurine accompanied a news story about Murray's defeat on page 6 of The Sunday Herald.

The Hub Direct's company director Helen Gourley told ToyNews: "We're very proud of how Andy did. His family are regular customers of ours and the whole town was really behind him.

"Still, it's only his first Wimbledon final. Hopefully there will be more to come in future years.

"We made the figure using a Lego Olympic minifigure and the HTI Lego Minifigure Speech Bubbles set."
