Leicestershire indie Hubbard’s Toy Cupboard has been named The Good Toy Guide’s Retailer of the Month for July 2015.

The Hinckley store has been recognised by the team for its offering of ‘traditional toys with an educational twist’ for babies and young kids.

Owned by Caroline Hubbard – an expert in pre-school care herself – Hubbard’s Toy Cupboard is staffed by a team equipped to offer expert advice on toys that can help stimulate and excite a child’s learning and development.

The store was nominated for the monthly award programme by one of its local customers.

“I am over the moon to win this award,” said Hubbard. “It means a lot to me as it was nominated by a customer. It means all my hard work has been appreciated. I feel it is a great to July as we prepare to celebrate independence month.”

Having been open for over two years, Hubbard’s Toy Cupboard is a market town centre independent toy store, boasting a comprehensive online shop and a click and collect service.

With the ongoing regeneration of the town centre in Hinckley in the form of the Crescent development, Hubbard alongside many other independent traders are excited for what the future holds for the town.

“It is great to see a store receive nominations for Retailer of the Month from genuine clients, it really shows that the store is offering customers what they want,” said Lucy Moody, head of retail relations at The Good Toy Guide.

“The attitude of allowing children to play and explore is lovely to see.”
