Since it featured on The Gadget Show back at London Toy Fair, momentum has been building for the launch of the memory puzzle.
The iball3 event was promoted through websites and children's publications and drew a large crowd on the Saturday of the week long launch.
Hamleys staff wore iball3 polo shirts and 1,000 iball3 balloons were handed out.
Hamleys said the response from the public and initial sales were well above expectations. Marketing and events coordinator, Jo Wilkinson said: "The launch was a great success, our games staff have got the iball3 bug."
