Home Retail Group has sent toys, electrical goods, clothes and more to In Kind Direct, an organisation set up to redistribute large donations to a network of mostly small, local charities.
James Williams, head of business partnerships at In Kind, said: "This fantastic donation from Home Retail Group will make a massive difference.
"In the last year more than 1,100 additional voluntary groups came to In Kind Direct looking for help in stretching their limited budgets."
Ceri Wootton, community affairs manager at Home Retail Group added: "By working with In Kind Direct we are able to reach a wide range of small, grassroots charities that are sometimes overlooked by large companies. Donating product also helps us work towards our aim of extending the longevity and reuse of products."
The Home Retail Group has been working with In Kind Direct since 2005 and over 1,500 different charities have benefitted from the partnership to date.
