The firm is currently in the process of signing for a store in Glasgow at St Enoch shopping centre’s £100m extension.
Hamleys is to take a 25,000 sq ft store at the entrance of the centre’s 250,000 sq ft extension. The store is set to open in October.
In Cardiff, the firm is in detailed discussions with Capital Shopping Centres and Land Securities for a store at their St David’s 2 shopping centre extension.
The store opening programme is part of Hamleys’ strategy to focus on large standalone stores.
The firm closed its House of Fraser concessions last month, including its outlet at the Frasers department store in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, Hamleys is also making staff cut-backs at its head-office, with up to 20 people being made redundant.
The cuts will see half of its six-strong buying team headed up by Ian Gibbs laid-off, as reported in this month's ToyNews.
