Epoch Making Toys is already celebrating the success of its Sylvanian Families 30th anniversary year, with two major consumer events still to come.

The team has already seen strong consumer reaction to initiatives with the UK toy retailer Hamleys, that saw the retailer host Sylvanian Families roadshows across its numerous stores.

During the Easter school holidays, the Sylvanian Families team visited five Hamleys stores for a day of live performances in Dublin, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow and London.

“Sylvanian Families fans flocked to see their favourite characters take to the stage in an interactive show incorporating music and dance,” said Grand Yuill, marketing manager at Hamleys.

“One of the most satisfying sights was seeing different generations enjoy the experience – parents and children all got involved. Sylvanian Families has a rich heritage similar to that of Hamleys and we cannot wait to be part of the next 30 years of fun.”

Epoch has also recently partnered with the National Trust Hatchlands Park to open a Sylvanian Families nature trail within the grounds of the Surrey property.

After just three weeks, the trail is reportedly proving to be a “hugely popular attraction for visitors,” according to Mark Harvey, House Steward at Hatchlands Park.

The firm is now gearing up to continue the celebrations in the coming months, with two nature-themed Sylvanian Families picnics scheduled to take place in the grounds of National Trust properties.

The picnics will be held in order to raise awareness of the firm’s new seaside range. The events will offer kids the chance to get hands on with the new product. Interactive performers, face painters and more will also be on hand.

“We are pleased our anniversary activity so far is connecting with existing fans while also reaching a whole new generation of consumers, particularly with the nature-themed initiatives,” said Sally Carnall, marketing manager at Epoch Making Toys.

“Tickets for the summer picnics we are holding for fans at National trust properties in the north and south are all sold out now, so we are all set for the next exciting phase.”
