Frozen continues to sell at an average of seven items per second, according to the latest results from online marketplace, eBay.

Figures released as part of eBay UK’s Toy Tracker reveal that merchandise based on Disney’s award-winning animated feature, outsells goods from other children’s favourites combined.

On average, 12,623 Frozen items sell per day via the online marketplace.

“Frozen has really captured the imaginations of an entire generation of children, and is a true phenomenon,” said eBay spokesperson, Laura Wilkinson-Rea.

Despite the figures, the findings also showed that more classic stories, brands and franchises continue to hold their own, almost 70 years on.

The group has revealed that Thomas the Tank Engine – who first appeared in 1946 – sells nearly 700 items each day via the site, while one piece of Doctor Who or Scooby Doo merchandise is sold every hour.

“It will be interesting to see if people are still buying or selling Anna and Elsa dolls in ten, or even 50 years time,” added Wilkinson-Rea.

The top ten best-selling toys on eBay, according to data taken from the past six months, July 29th 2014 to January 24th, 2015, is:

  1. Frozen
  2. Pokémon
  3. Harry Potter
  4. Toy Story
  5. Thomas the Tank Engine
  6. Dr. Who
  7. Fireman Sam
  8. In the Night Garden
  9. The Simpsons
  10. 10. Scooby Doo
