As part of the gadget, games and gifts e-tailer’s drive to provide customers with a range of options to meet their needs, it has signed up to Royal Mail's Sameday service for people living within the M25, meaning they can order goods by 2pm for a delivery between 6pm and 9pm the same evening.

The company already offers a range of delivery options to improve convenience, including Royal Mail's Local Collect service, which allows customers to ask for an item to be taken directly to a Post Office branch if they will not be at home to receive it.

Christian Robinson, MD at Firebox.com, said: "We sell quirky and innovative gifts and gadgets before they are available on the high street and some of our customers simply want to get them as quickly as possible.

"The customer experience - whether that be through the items we sell or the way they trade with us - is central to do what we do and our success. Giving our customers a range of delivery options means that they can order in confidence knowing that we will have a service that meets their specific needs."

Gerry Farwell of Royal Mail Special Services said: "We have worked closely with Firebox.com since it was formed ten years ago and are delighted that they have joined the growing number of customers who have chosen Royal Mail Sameday to give online shoppers even more control on the delivery of their orders."
