eBay set to hit the High Street
eBay's first pop-up store will open in London's West End on Dean Street for five days from December 1st to 5th.
Products will be browsed and ordered in-store and purchased via the eBay app for smartphones and will then be delivered straight to consumers' homes.
The store is set to have 200 of the bestselling items from the site on display, including Kids@play's inflatable ride-in Dalek toy, each of which will feature a QR code on the ticket, taking customers straight to the item on the website via their phones.
Miriam Lahage of eBay said: "The mobile economy is proving resilient as people increasingly see owning and using a mobile phone as an essential expense, despite cutting back in other areas.
"As smartphone and tablet ownership increases, there will be even greater potential rewards for companies investing in mobile and this is particularly true for retailers."
