Disney unveils Lakeside concept store

The refurbished Lakeside store has celebrated its grand opening as the first store to be completed with the new specifications.

Visitors will enter the store through the Pixie archway with fibre optic lights twinkles and changes colour throughout the day.

Visitors will also see the new Heart of Disney tower in the middle of the store. The tower features a 360-degree wrap around screen, which shows clips from movies and key season products. The LED ticker tape announces key activities and changes daily.

There are seven additional plasma screens and mini plasma screens for children to watch and an overhead moving rail, which travels throughout the store displaying the week’s favourite products.

Teresa Tideman, joint managing director of The Disney Store Ltd said: “The newly enhanced lakeside store is one of our finest achievements this year. It combines the Disney Store values of entertainment and theatre with a fresh, contemporary look and cutting edge technology”.

”The company’s plans for Disney Stores across Europe are ambitious, and our new and impressive Lakeside store shows exactly what is possible. The new store concept is something we are keen to roll out to a variety of new and existing stores in the coming months and years,” Tideman said.
