Department store giant Debenhams has revealed its own top ten toy predictions for Christmas 2015.

The retailer is expecting big things from leading boys’ brands and film franchises this year, championing ITV’s Thunderbirds Are Go and the Tracy Island play-set from Vivid as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

With just over eight weeks until the festive season officially arrives,Debenhams toys buyer, James Ford has made early predictions of the toys he expects to see flying off the shelves throughout the Christmas countdown.

The return of Bratz and the ongoing demand for Disney’s Frozen appear well catered for, while Debenhams also predicts key LEGO themes this year to include Ninjago, LEGO Friends Pop Stars and of course, LEGO Star Wars.

Elsewhere, The Good Dinosaur is expected to make an impact on toy retail this festive season, alongside collectables ‘phenomenon’ Shopkins and Minions.

“We may be eight weeks away from the big day but we are seeing the trends developing now and it’s the toys that we knew when we were growing up that are proving to be the favourites, although they have been brought bang up to date with the help of new technology,” said Ford.

“Many of the toy have recently launched in-store and we are seeing customers already seeking out and buying the large must-have toys to ensure the children in their lives are not disappointed this Christmas.”

Ford states that the department store retailer is taking measures to ensure stock levels remain constant throughout this year’s Christmas period.
