Children’s charity Barnardos is calling on the public to donate unused toys to their nearest Argos store to help raise money for disadvantaged children across the UK.
The initiative, which begins from today, will be in operation at around 740 Argos stores and 500 Barnardo’s retail stores.
People who donate their unwanted toys will receive a £5 towards the cost of new toys, although purchases must be worth a minimum of £35. Redeemed coupons must be used by December 24th, whilst toy donations must be made before November 27th.
All toys donated through the Argos Toy Exchange will be passed on to Barnardo’s to be sold in its stores across the country, whilst all proceeded made in these stores will go to charity.
“We are very excited about this innovative project which gives children and their parents the opportunity to exchange the old for the new whilst helping some of the most disadvantaged children and families,” said Barnardo’s director of retail Gerard Cousins.
“Christmas can be a difficult time for many, particularly those living in poverty and every penny raised through the sale of these pre-loved toys in Barnardo’s stores will go directly toward helping those in greatest need.”
