The Argos ‘Toy of the Future’ competition asked children to submit ideas for a future toy superstar. The winning entry would then be produced and go on sale in Argos as part of the celebrations for Argos’ 35-year anniversary.

Aine's idea will be sold by Argos in time for Christmas. Tilly the Tooth Fairy will be available in the retailer's Christmas Gift Guide from October 14th.

The doll was designed to go under a child’s pillow and comes with a small pouch where children can place their lost tooth.

Ian Chaplin, Trading Manager for toys at Argos said: “The Tilly the Tooth Fairy doll is a brilliant idea, and Aine has done exceptionally well to beat the tough competition that she faced.

"The tooth fairy is an important part of the early childhood experience, even grown-ups can remember losing their first tooth and the magic of finding money under their pillow. We’re excited about making Aine’s tooth fairy doll part of the Argos toy range.”

Tina Gallagher, Aine’s mum, commented: “We are delighted that Aine has won the competition and can’t quite believe her toy will be available for people to buy at Argos.”

This year Argos is inviting kids to enter the Argos Toy Tester competition for a chance to win free toys for a year. They will select 30 winners in total, and will choose one product from their Toys and Video Game ranges for each winner, each month for one year.

To enter kids have to tell Argos about their favourite toy and why they love it in 25 words or less online at www.argostoytester.co.uk or in any Argos store.
