The firm is opening its doors to suppliers and inventors at an event in Milton Keynes on June 3rd, giving them the chance to present to its buying team and receive feedback.

Such has been the response, the team has decided to open the event for a further two hours on the day and bring in extra staff.

Ian Chaplin, Argos trading manager, told ToyNews: "When we invited inventors and small suppliers of children's toys to pitch their product ideas at our open day on 3rd June, we expected a good response. After all, it's not everyday they get the opportunity to pitch up to five product ideas to the senior Argos Toys team, and to receive commercial advice for free.

"In fact, the response has been so great, with over 100 companies attending, that we have already brought in an extra buying team and extended the open day by two hours to ensure we can see everyone who wants to come. We are very close to maximum capacity so if demand continues we will arrange a follow up event. Myself and the team are really looking forward to it."
