On the eve of its 20th birthday, online giant Amazon is launching a one-day sale expected to rival the likes of Black Friday.

Called Prime Day, the online shopping event available exclusively to Amazon Prime members, will offer more deals than the November sale period known for bringing the Internet to a standstill.

On Wednesday, July 15th Prime members in the US, UK and across Europe and Canada will find deals starting at midnight, with new deals starting as often as every ten minutes.

It has been labelled by the firm as ‘one of the biggest deal extravaganzas in the world.’

“Prime Day is a one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe,” said Greg Greeley, vice president, Amazon Prime.

“If you’re not already a Prime member, you’ll want to join so you don’t miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world.”

Electronics, toys, movies, clothing, sports and outdoor items will be just part of the sweeping sales on offer on July 15th.
