Model horse specialist Utterly Horses has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for its upcoming British range of model horses, Copperfox.

The firm's MD, Becky Benfield, started Utterly Horses aged just 16 and her desire to create a new range of model horses has been in the pipeline for over ten years.

"For years customers asked us for breeds of models like Welsh Cob, Dales, Fell, Exmoors and Welsh Section Cs, but no model version existed of these popular British native breeds," said Benfield. "So, in true British style, we have taken it upon ourselves to solve that problem and are creating Copperfox Model Horses, a company specialising in model horses of British breeds."

To help fund the production of the Copperfox range, Benfield hopes to raise £25,000 by Janaury 5th, 2015.

The Kickstarter rewards available in return for pledges are impressive, from designing your own Copperfox horse to be included within the range, to tickets to the US launch event in Kentucky. Pledges are available from £10 to £2,500.

There will be seven models in the first collection, with each a different colour and based on one of three moulds. Each model is based on and inspired by real horses and equine personalities in the British Isles, none of which have been available in model form before.

The Copperfox models will retail at the same price as models of the same scale currently available on the market (approx. £32-£44). Each model will come in a presentation box, which will also fold out to create a stable for the horse.
