A team of toy designers is taking to Kickstarter to help fund its mission to bring more diversity to children’s toys.

The team is looking to secure enough funding to launch a new educational wooden toy that celebrates today’s ‘millions of blended, multiracial and LGBT families.’

Called MyFamilyBuilders, the project features a 48-piece magnetic, wooden toy set that encourages kids to imagine and build all sorts of different characters and families.

The team, comprised of product designers, illustrators, child psychologists, educational specialists and parents – have declared the crowdfunding project as ‘its mission to create toys for a better tomorrow.’
