Here at ToyNews, we're in the final stages of Toy Fair planning.

Securing the final few meeting slots, prepping interview questions and ensuring we have a week's worth of clean pants, the ToyNews desks are quite a picture.

Our mammoth Toy Fair issue is also out now and inside we have spotlights on two toy inventors that have enjoyed quite a year: Skinny Sketcher's Gillian Logan and Accentuate's Graeme Fraser-Bell (read their pieces online here on pages 33 and 34).

Those who keep up with ToyNews know that we have a special place in our heart for Gillian as Skinny Sketcher was the first product to be born out of our Toy & Game Inventors Workshop.

She came to our event back in September with Skinny Sketcher, a kit for budding architects, and impressed now former Asobi MD Thierry Bourret.

Fast forward four months (almost to the day) and Gillian is set to launch a complete Skinny Sketcher range at Toy Fair next week at the Asobi stand (Gallery 120).

It's a great product and everyone at ToyNews is incredibly pleased for Gillian. She's totally new to the world of toys and this will be her first ever Toy Fair so do go and check out Skinny Sketcher and say hello (as well as brilliant inventor, Gillian's also a lovely human being too!).

We'll have more details on this year's Workshop very soon, but we hope to replicate the success of last year's event this year, and who knows, in 12 months time we might be previewing several products that are launching at Toy Fair 2016 thanks to a little push from our Workshop.

Anyway, we'll be at the show all next week, so do pop by and see us on stand E2. If you want to get involved with the Bulletin, or have thoughts on how it's been going so far, do come and tell us. I don't bite. (I can't speak for Rob.)

Toy Fair season is upon us, and this weekend, we'll be at London Toy Fair spreading the word about this year's Workshop. Billy Langsworthy takes a look at how the BTHA is once again supporting grassroots creativity in the toy space at this year's London Toy Fair.

What to expect from this year's Inventors Workshop

Last year’s Workshop helped unite the UK’s toy and game inventor community and gave them a rare chance to pitch their ideas to some of the world’s biggest companies face to face. Well, we’re doing it again, and this time it’s all set to bigger and better. Billy Langsworthy reveals what’s in store this year.
