Digital table-top game specialist Nomad Games has signed up as an event partner for this year’s Toy & Game Inventors Workshop.

Nomad Games is an independent video games developer and publisher and has enjoyed huge success with the PC and mobile versions of classic Games Workshop board game Talisman, turning it into a million-selling franchise.

The Cheshire-based company is now looking to extend its portfolio by taking other card and board games to digital formats – and is hoping to meet game inventors at the upcoming Inventors Workshop to discuss licensing opportunities.

The directors at Nomad Games have a long history in the video games sector, formerly working on blockbuster console titles for the likes of Sony Psygnosis, THQ, Acclaim and Rage Software. On founding Nomad Games in 2013, the team chose to concentrate on table-top gaming.

Nomad Games will be announcing licensing agreements for a number of other classic board games later this year. However, it is also keen to talk to inventors of new card and board games about creating digital versions of their products.

“We are huge fans of table-top gaming – both board and card games – here at Nomad," said managing director Don Whiteford.

"So our focus is very much on this sector, as we look to take both classic and new games to digital formats.

"Our success with the PC and mobile versions of Talisman, which is a 30-year-old Games Workshop board game, has demonstrated that ‘traditional’ table-top games are finding new audiences online. At the same time, our user feedback has shown that these consumers are subsequently going on to buy the cardboard version of Talisman for the first time.

“We attended the Inventors Workshop last year as delegates and were impressed with the format of the event. This year we are exhibiting at the Workshop and look forward to meeting the extremely talented and creative inventors from across the UK.”

This year’s Inventors Workshop will be at held at Whittlebury Hall in Northampton on Tuesday, September 22nd 2015.

The event will see some of most innovative and influential toy and game manufactures, technology companies and financial houses present, discuss and connect with over 150 inventors expected at the one-day conference.
