Chicago Toy and Game Group founder and CEO Mary Couzin, has been selected to sit on an eight-person panel of judges for the 2014 DevelopHer Toy & Game Challenge.

DevelopHer launched the DevelopHer Toy & Game Challenge to invite individuals and companies to create new STEM-based toys for young children, particularly girls.

The prototypes undergo scrutiny and constructive feedback from an elite group of judges spanning game designers, activists, celebrities and chief executive officers.

“Mary Couzin is a vital member of this year’s panel of DevelopHer judges,” said Andrea Guendelman, co-founder of DevelopHer.

“Mary has been an inspiring member of the toy and game industry for more than a decade, and we’re so excited to have her involved in this year’s events.”

Couzin added: “The DevelopHer Toy & Game Challenge is a brilliant concept because not only does it reinforce the power of play, but it also encourages growing girls to explore different parts of their brains and enhance new skill sets.

“I’m honoured to be included and to provide valuable feedback to the participants this year.”

Couzin joins actresses and activists Geena Davis and Maria Bello, and Clare Munn, CEO and founder of the social impact media company The Communication Group, on the panel.

Any individuals or companies with a valid prototype are eligible for entry to the DevelopHer Toy & Game Challenge. Click here for more details.
