Bernie Sanders action figure smashes Kickstarter goal

$1 from every Sanders figure sold will go towards his presidential campaign.
Publish date:

A Kickstarter campaign to launch an action figure of US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has smashed its target goal.

The campaign was looking to raise $15,000 by March 31st and has already passed the $30,000 mark.

The figure comes from Brooklyn-based design studio FCTRY, the same team that launched a Hilary Clinton action figure last year.

FCTRY has outlined plans to donate $1 from every Sanders or Clinton figure sold to the respective candidate's presidential campaign in a bid to 'get real people and small businesses engaged in politics.'

'We're hoping our $1 per toy model can serve as an innovative, accessible model for grass-roots campaign finance reform," stated FCTRY.

'By donating a fixed portion of each sale to a political campaign our customers support, we can democratise campaign finance and make participation much more accessible to the average person.'
