Toymaster’s Ian Edmunds is embarking on a personal Everest, a 46 mile bike ride to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

The buying group’s MD is tackling a ride around London on July 29 this year in an effort to raise money for the UK charity and its on-going care for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s as well as the research to find a cure.

“Some of you may know that my mum suffered with this awful disease for many years prior to her untimely death and, unfortunately, I have no doubt some of you will have seen Parkinson’s affect the life of someone you know,” said Edmunds via his Virgin Money Giving page.

“Some of you may think [46 miles] is not really a challenge, which only proves you are not aware of my level of fitness. To do this seemed like a good idea at the time when my mate Mark suggested it (after the odd pint or three) and I agreed, it seemed like the right thing to do.

“I do a fair amount of cycling but never 46 miles in a day.”

Edmunds is looking to raise £1,000 for the UK charity, so far hitting 69 per cent of the goal with £690 and counting.
