Funko has tapped the former Bioworld executive Rich Smith as its new softlines sales manager for EMEA, joining the team at its London office.

The appointment comes as Funko moves to ramp up its Loungefly and softlines business.

With over fifteen years’ experience working in licensing and accessories at Bioworld International and Icon Live Ltd, Smith brings a wealth of experience to the team, 'which will no doubt amplify Funko’s softlines business across EMEA'.

Since its acquisition by Funko a year ago, the Loungefly range is continuing to perform strongly across the region, and Smith explains that “now is the perfect time to be talking to retail partners about the future plans for the brand and the other softlines categories, building on our existing success.”

Smith has told ToyNews that he is “delighted and excited to join Funko”, while the company is looking forward to seeing the impact Smith will make.
