The first ToyNews Women of the Year event is on the cusp of selling out, but you can still get your hands on a ticket if you're quick.

Organised in association with the UK chapter of the Women in Toys body and sponsored by Gameplan Europe and The Good Toy Guide, the ToyNews Women of the Year lunch follows on from the success of our Women in Toys Top 100 feature.

In addition to the networking lunch, the Women of the Year event will honour one particular individual, celebrating her outstanding achievements within the UK toy industry.

"Gameplan Europe is very pleased to support the ToyNews initiative to encourage more women to apply for senior management positions, because we know from experience that they frequently perform outstandingly well,” said Margit Pendl-Dobbie, commercial director at Gameplan Europe.

“We look forward to a great event of networking and celebrating female talent in the UK toy industry.”

The Good Toy Guide’s Dr Amanda Gummer added: “As a (currently) all-female team we’re thrilled to be involved with the ToyNews Women of the Year lunch and hope that this first event will inspire more networking events that both women and men enjoy.”

Execs from Arklu, BTHA, Jumbo Games, LEGO, Performance Brands, Vivid Imaginations, miPR, Super Awesome, Coiledspring Games, Cartamundi, KD UK, MakieLab, Playtime PR, Carte Blanche Group, Golden Bear, MGA Entertainment, Tomy, Bandai, The Hut Group, Mega Brands, Toytesters.tv, NPD and Shop Direct have already signed up for the networking event.

The ToyNews Women of the Year event will be held on Thursday, July 24th at BAFTA at 195 Piccadilly, London and is open to all – male and female.

Tickets are just £35 (plus VAT) to attend and this will include free drinks and a buffet lunch.
