Wow Stuff trebles TV ad spend

First to feature will be Air Swimmers in the firm's latest campaign.

Following the success of last year's TV advertised blockbuster hit Dave, the Funky Shoulder Monkey, Wow Stuff has decided to increase its advertising spend in 2011.

At the end of August, Air Swimmers - five-feet long, inflatable, radio controlled flying Shark and Clown Fish - will hit the small screen.

Next will be the My Keepon robot, which has already been viewed by six million on YouTube and a starred on US breakfast show, The Today programme.

Richard North, MD, commented: "Fittingly both products are living up to our aim in creating toys with a wow-factor, as they both made Hamleys own top ten Wow toys [the retailer's top ten finest toys] for Christmas.

"Last Christmas we put Dave on TV and he sold nearly 300,000 units in less than ten weeks. That was our first foray into TV advertising and it's really opened our eyes. We've increased spend by 50 per cent for both Air Swimmers and My Keepon so we can ensure they are on the christmas 'must have' lists of kids up and down the country."
