The campaign, which runs from October 25th – 31st, has been developed around the firm's Ready Room range of toddler beds, night lights and bedroom furniture, and Worlds Apart is welcoming further support from Disney this year.
The week's activities are aimed at helping children who don’t have a comfortable place to sleep and visitors to the site are asked to download a reward chart to encourage young children into a good bedtime routine.
2009 will see SCAW reach the milestone of its one millionth bed kit since the charity was started almost 40 years ago.
A focus of the campaign will see six year-old Sophia from Canada - who last year championed the week through her You Tube Video, which attracted nearly 25,000 views, visiting the UK to help raise awareness of the campaign. Her updated video can be viewed at the www.readyforbedweek.com site and on You Tube.
For every 100 downloads of the chart, Worlds Apart will sponsor a bed kit from charity SCAW and is hoping to reach its target of 100 Bed Kits for this year’s campaign.
Andy Cooper from Worlds Apart said: “We are delighted Sophia and her family accepted our invitation to visit the UK. When we saw the video and the response it was receiving from all over the world, we were amazed at how articulately she explained how SCAW works and Ready for Bed Week.
“We are hoping that the family has a wonderful time in London and that Sophia gets lots of opportunities to promote the good work of SCAW and help us reach our target of 100 bed kits in 2009”.
