Tomorrow, Saturday June 19th sees the 7th Annual Giant Sleepover, which is set to involve over 20,000 children in the UK, who hope to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest sleepover over 24 hours.
Measuring two metres tall by 17.5 metres wide Worlds Apart’s bed has been designed to fit more than 40 children. It has been specially made for the event’s flagship venue, Hamleys in London’s Regent Street.
Andy Cooper, marketing director, Worlds Apart said: “We’re celebrating ten years of the Readybed later this year, and having made and sold eight million Readybeds since we first introduced them, we thought making a giant Readybed for the Giant Sleepover would be fantastic way to celebrate our special birthday year.
“We hope the scouts have a great time and raise lots of money for their chosen charity, and we’d also like to extend our warm thanks to Hamleys for kindly offering to host this very special sleepover.”
Brian Adcock, representing The Giant Sleepover added: “We’ve been running the Giant Sleepover for a number of years now but this is the first time we’ve had a giant inflatable sleeping bag.
“It’s the only one of its kind so we may be setting another record for the most kids sleeping in a Readybed too.”
